What a summer it's been and also, where did it go?!

As we transition into the cozy embrace of fall, (not just yet though haha), I find myself grateful for the trust you place in me to care for your beloved companions. All the precious little faces I get to see on a daily basis has made this season truly special.

I have some exciting updates to share that will help me continue providing the compassionate, reliable care your furry family members deserve.

BIG NEWS!

I am thrilled to share that we've officially become Lap of Luxury Ltd.! This exciting milestone reflects our commitment to providing you and your kitties and critters with the most professional and reliable care possible.

From day one, my vision has been to create a trusted pet care service that you can count on for years to come, and incorporating is an important step in making that dream a reality.

So, what does this mean for you and your furry family?

You will continue receiving the same loving, personalized care you've always known, but now with the added security and professionalism that comes with being a fully established company.

We now have dedicated accountants and human resource professionals supporting us behind the scenes, ensuring we can focus entirely on what matters most—giving your pets the attention and love they deserve.

Housekeeping

Lockbox Transition:

To streamline our service and spend more time focused on your pets, we're transitioning to a lockbox system. Over the past year, coordinating key exchanges—especially for clients outside our immediate service area—has become quite time-intensive, taking away from the time we could be spending with your furry friends.

We're asking clients to install a lockbox or designate a secure key hiding spot on your property. Your key will remain safely on-site throughout your scheduled visits, allowing your kitty caregiver quick, easy access while maintaining security.

This system also provides peace of mind—if your cat sitter encounters an emergency, your designated backup contact can step in seamlessly.

Keypads are wonderful too! If you have a keypad entry, we'd still recommend having a backup lockbox in case of power outages or dead batteries.

For clients who live in buildings, please check with your property manager or board members about lockbox policies. If building restrictions prevent lockbox installation, a small coordination fee may apply for traditional key exchanges.

Lockboxes are readily available at Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Walmart, Home Hardware, or Amazon. Need help finding the right solution for your situation? Just reach out—we're happy to work together to find what works best for everyone!

New E-Transfer Payment Process:

To help our accounting team process payments efficiently, we have one small request: when sending e-transfers, please include your invoice number in the notes section. This simple step helps our accountants quickly match payments to the correct accounts, ensuring everything stays organized behind the scenes!

Daily Visit Commitment:

As outlined in our Service Agreement, daily visits are essential for providing the attentive care your cats deserve. When we see your kitty every day, we can quickly notice important changes—whether they've eaten, used the litter box, or if there are any shifts in behavior that might need attention.

Moving forward, we'll maintain our standard of one visit per day minimum for all bookings, with no exceptions. This consistency ensures your feline family members receive the reliable, observant care that keeps them healthy and happy.

Expanding Our Team:

We're excited to announce that Lap of Luxury Ltd. is preparing to hire additional cat caregivers! Our client family has grown so much that it's time to bring on help to ensure everyone continues receiving excellent service.

We're committed to finding caregivers who share our core values of integrity, compassion, and reliability. Each new team member will complete extensive training before being introduced to you and your pets. Our goal remains the same—having one consistent caregiver for your regular visits.

However, expanding our team means we'll finally be able to offer our own emergency backup coverage, something we haven't been able to provide. (This is another reason we're implementing the lockbox system!)

We will share more details as our hiring process progresses.

Online Volunteer Orientation with SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society)

"Want to make a difference for animals in need? As a SCARS volunteer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that rescues and rehomes animals, tackles pet overpopulation, and helps create safer communities. This session will introduce you to SCARS’ operations and the many ways you can get involved (cat cuddling, dog walking, driving, fundraising, and so much more). This is a family-friendly event, and attending does not obligate you to volunteer—but it’s a great way to learn more about how you can help!"

Drop In Visits:

Do you need us to come check in on your fur baby while you are out of the house? 30, 45 and 60 minute visits are the most popular. Starting at $40.

Overnight Stays:

A 12 hour visit, arrival and departure times are customizable. Starting at $140.00 per night.

Day Care:

Chose between full or half day care starting at $175.00.
